Parquette has been active since April 2025; the project was started by the organization FANTOM and recently taken over by Écoute Active.
The space is rented
In late April, Parquette leases a space of over 7,000 square feet at 1345 Bellechasse and begins the build-out.
Jump Source and Flip 1
A test night with Jump Source puts the space through its paces. On May 31, FLIP 1 launches the queer dance-party series that becomes Parquette’s signature.
FLIP and regular festive cultural events
FLIP returns every month — 2 in June, 3 in July, 4 in August — between nights like Ensemble and Home. One to three nights a month. A few openings and other events in the space.
The café opens
Parquette opens a café every day.
Expansion of the mandate
The offering grows to six to seven nights a month. Guest collectives (MORPH, Humidex, Ego Trip, Ouri) and international names follow one another, alongside FLIP 6 x Slut Island and FLIP 7.
Continuation of the nightlife mandate
Nearly eight events in February. The Brûlances festival-conference, the first FLOP, a two-stage Nuit blanche, Ferias x Paranoid London and FLIP 10.
Regular classes
Weekly classes — yoga, pilates, barre, waacking, metabolic burn — Thursday Apérette, listening sessions, mending and chess nights, and the choir now shape the week. Everyday life and community take over from parties alone. FLIP 11 in March.
A year of FLIP
On May 31, FLIP 13 closes a full year of monthly FLIP — one year to the day after FLIP 1. The last flip.
Permit troubles
With uncertain permit issues, big nights become less common and Écoute Active takes over the project under a mandate of smaller, community-oriented events.
A pivot toward the day
Parquette refocuses on the café, classes, community use and family and youth events, while keeping one dance event each month with Partytime.
